Bacchus Uncovered: Ancient God of Ecstasy

There's a gigantic Neolithic pot in the Georgian National Museum decorated with vines, with traces of fermented grape juice inside. At 8,000 years old, it's the oldest extant evidence of wine-making. The god of wine is referenced in Linear B tablets; and the use of wine in prehistoric ritual shows up in sites from Iran and Turkey to Sicily. Absolutely awesome. Nick Gillam-Smith is a visual genius, I mean he is able to center the whole film and the whole action on the feelings.

Not much of a fan of Bettany Hughes but this movie was good.

I can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can buy it and watch it again. Best movie I have seen in a while!!
