What Lies That Way

What Lies That Way

WHAT LIES THAT WAY A film by and about magic There are things we believe possible and things we believe impossible, or are we simply blinded by the limits of our belief? What Lies That Way documents a personal journey into a realm of creativity and spirituality that only a few have entered. The film follows Paul Wolffram on his return to the isolated rain forest community in Papua New Guinea that hosted him 10 years earlier. Paul has returned determined to enter the dangerous initiation process of the Buai shaman cult. In a remote area of the forest, Toanati, the oldest living Buai shaman gives Paul the initiation substances and he is left to fast without food or water for four days and nights. The Buai promises access to enhanced creative power but the initiation also risks exposure to seductive darker powers. As the fasting progresses the barriers between the realms of perception are dissolved and we are taken deep into the spiritual encounter. A fascinating journey into the unknown to seek and to find What Lies That Way
