Biographic film on the life of Pete Herman, a diminutive former penniless shoeshine boy, born of peasant Sicilian-immigrant parents in New Orleans, in 1896. Pete Herman fought his way to the top of the boxing world gaining fame and fortune. Blinded by ring injuries, he retired to New Orleans where he operated a popular nightclub and bordello in the French Quarter, and with his brother, controlled the mob's "rackets."

Really entertaining and fun to watch.
I thought this movie was very cool. I watch it again and again!
this was such a movie. even though it is a movie that few can relate to, those few who can do it so strongly.
Way better than I thought it would be based on the previews.
John G.W. Anderson was amazing, of course. Beautiful scenery. I never took my eyes off the screen. Loved it!
It is truly epic in every word. This is probably one of the most ambitious movies ever made.
A movie that will hook you from the start
