Mother Derdo and the Walnut Tree

An Armenian woman from Bitlis, Mother Derdo, has emigrated to Istanbul following the killing of her husband to build a new life to herself with 8 children. Each year, she travels to her home village where she stays for a while, harvests walnuts, and returns to Istanbul. The walnut tree is like a reflection of Mother Derdo-standing tall, keeping a memory.

I hope that this film stands the test of time because it is "classic" material.

This is a really amazingly original movie: it's surprising actually, at first glance you'd think this must just be a good movie that made it to the cinemas - but it's more than a good movie! It brings and original story based plot with a new concept to it

The action was constant edge of the set stuff, the locations stunning, the CGI, the acting excellent. I left the cinema saying I wanted to go back in to see it again

Such a good movie. "Derdo Ana ve Ceviz Agaci" is worth watching. The characters were all so interesting on their own.

Don't let the shrill minority fool you, Derdo Ana ve Ceviz Agaci is one of the greatest films ever set in a galaxy far, far away.

This movie is one that I watch over and over. Being a fan of Derdo Yildirim acting, this is one of my favorite movies for his acting because he plays such a very interesting character! He's funny and plays the part well. The entire cast is perfectly cast and the story line is great. I highly recommend this movie.

This was a wonderful movie to watch. I had a great moment of thinking about people around me after watching this great movie.
