Brendan is a pastor in a small, evangelical church, and he has a secret. He doesn't believe in God anymore. His wife is still a true believer - and she just told the wrong person. Losing Our Religion is a feature length documentary about preachers who are not believers, and what atheists do when they miss church. Allowed access to the 600 members of The Clergy Project - a safe haven for preachers from all faiths who no longer believe - the documentary follows ex-members and clergy who are still undercover. They are not just losing their religion, for many they are losing their friends, community and even family. As well as their job. As events unfold that change lives forever, their stories also connect with secular communities that are growing in surprising places. New groups are experimenting in ways to have church without god, and asking the same question as unbelieving clergy - "what's next?"
Leif Kaldor takes a story, twists it and turns, plays with our expectations and leaves us with a great film. I've seen it plenty times and never get bored.
The great story, characters, visuals, and so forth made this film incredibly memorable, as this movie will hold a special place in my heart.
Don’t start the movie expecting to be disappointed or to be blown away, instead just watch it and take it for what it is. I really enjoyed this movie it was a little different and a lot of fun.
Light entertainment with a great cast. If you like the actors, and enjoy something light hearted, think you will enjoy this film.
Hilarious - smart and creative writing that keeps you interested. Great movie.
When I realized who directed this one, I thought, "Oh, no - not Leif Kaldor!" but I was WRONG! "Mr Leslea Mair, surprise me!" I'm not only surprised - I am also very much impressed!
The actors do a good job. Nice story.
This movie rocked the house! Richard Dawkins was excellent in this because of his huge amount of likability and charms, but was frightened and tense when he needed to be. But Thea Hughes is definitely the best performance of the movie!
Great movie, great soundtrack! Richard Dawkins, and Thea Hughes are very talented actors, perfect for these parts.
I enjoyed it and it's a movie I'd watch again in the future.
